Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist in Sustainable Living at Utah State University
Mike is an Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist in Sustainable Living at Utah State University. He is a recent arrival from Connecticut, where he worked in the Extension system at the University of Connecticut, providing outreach on water quality and low impact development issues. Mike's research has focused on alternative stormwater treatment practices, and on the human dimension of natural resource issues. Energy and sustainability issues are the focus of his current position. His current responsibilities at USU include oversight of the Utah House, which is located in Kaysville. The Utah House is a demonstration project which highlights sustainable construction techniques.
He obtained all of his degrees from the University of Connecticut: a BA in Psychology in 1994, MS and PhD in Natural Resources Management and Engineering in 2001 and 2005.
